In the last five years of our now 20 year marriage, there was restlessness. Writer Jeremy Stratton interviewed us about this crazy decision HERE, where we spill the details.

Was it hard to quit our jobs, sell everything and move to a foreign country? Um, yes.

Kevin’s thoughts on quitting our jobs and living without a safety net.

Learning to pray bigger.

Did you really trust God for everything? Yes. Still are. He hasn’t failed us yet.

How God provided a house, a really cool house.

The first month.

Was it difficult to adapt to another culture? English is one of the official 11 languages here, but even so, there was some hilarity and life lessons.

Trying not to go postal in the phone company.

Having a car stolen.

Explaining how to punish a disobedient wife.

Forgetting about our Easter Peeps.

Having a BABOON walk into the house.

Do we ever have second thoughts? Yes.

Second Thoughts.

Learning to trust, even more.

IMG_0187Now, after 18 months of living in Cape Town, the newness is worn off, we have learned and continue to learn, how to love and serve the people who have opened their hearts to us.

Moving past the awkward ‘new kids’ stage to see the heart-break.

Understanding our lack of understanding. And that’s ok.

Burning with passion for these.

Angry over these.

With so much need, it’s hard not to feel overwhelmed. God has given us such a passion for students and education. If we can help provide students with individual help and inspiration, maybe not just a life will be changed, but maybe generations.

Creating a game plan. This is why we are here.

It’s been the craziest, most fulfilling life choice we’ve ever made. If you have a chance to break out of the comfortable, and set your world on fire, light it up.

Romans 8:15-17 This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—an unbelievable inheritance!
